MATCH REPORT: 26.02.06 - RENAISSANCE SENIORS 'A'

26-Feb : Renaissance Seniors 'A' 4 - 0 Newbury Forest

Well guys it seems as if our late charge for promotion is well and truly over after this defeat, what puzzled me the most about this display was the fact we actually seemed to give up and just not want to try. One of our biggest strengths is the fact that we do have a good team spirit and we have started this season to play for each other. However this just all seemed to go to pot once we went a goal down.. I really do feel we all have to take a look at our selves and ask did we give as much as we can, because if you didn't not only have you let your self down, but also the rest of the team.

This is what we are, we win and lose as a team, so there is no point blaming individual for the goals or mistakes because things like that can happen in football. But when its the basic things we can control that we're not doing its not good. I still believe we can finish higher in this league and hey you never know what might happen with the teams above us, but we owe it to our selves to win the remaining games of the season to finish as high as possible. There are plenty of things still left to play for including places for next seasons, because it will be a big thing next year with the reserve team all wanting our positions, and at the moment it seems as if a few of us might be finding the bench an all too distant future.

Training on Thursday is the new beginning, show the rest of the team how committed you are to the team, by being there ready and willing to train hard and play hard, so that we can take it into the next game.

Ratings :

Graham Tritton GK 6/10
It was an off day for one of our consistent players, all players have it the difference is with a keeper it tends to lead to goals. Forget about this performance because there have been plenty of games you have kept us in or won for us. Just make sure you have the right contacts in!

Rob Hurst LB 6/10
Had to constantly deal with the problem of having an extra player to mark due to lack of cover, maybe was unlucky to come off, however I thought his distribution could have been better when he did have the ball

David De Rijk RB 6/10
Knowing how well I know he can play, and didn't feel he played to his ability that he has. His work rate and tackling are always going to be high due to the nature of how he plays. However I felt the touch of quality he brings wasn't there enough as it should be. Too many long balls not really going anywhere.

Gary Murphy CB 5.5/10
It just seemed that he wasn't himself, Team smash has disappeared and batfink's shoulder is now only used sparingly. In the previous two games he had seemed to get back to the old Murphy ways, Sunday just simply wasn't his best, I know he can be phenomenal and I challenge him to proof to us that Batfink is still alive and kicking.

Marc Wakley CB 7/10
A decent performance by him, but not great, as with the rest of the back line I know they can all play better. Its roll your sleeves up time boy!

John Hassan DM 6/10
Not a good game for the Kaiser, at times looked like he was finding it difficult to get involved in the game, as it seemed he was getting over run.
Did try to be Saturday john though!

David Zaracaro AM 6/10
He knows himself that he played in bits and bobs during the first half. At times he was everywhere, but at other times he just seemed to be wondering around, maybe this was because he and the rest of the team were disheartened, but we've gotta ask for more from all of us

Lil John AM 7/10
Again not his best game but always looked lively and kept on trying to plug away. Also help out more in his defensive duties, but still has some way before he gets back to his early form

Frankie Perez WRF 6/10
His work rate for the team is second to none, he's always lively which is a positive he should take and try and develop. However there were opportunities he had to shoot that I felt he could of done better with.

Alfie Egembah CF 6/10
Movement was okay up top, however balls didn't seem to come and when they did couldn't do too much with it. Should have tested the keeper with the couple of half chances created. definitely not my best game, could of done so much more if we continued as we did in the first 25 mins.

Lee Nicholas WLF 5/10
really didn't seem interested while on the pitch. when the ball was around him he is switched on and can move and do things, but once the ball goes seems to switch off and disappear. we know what a player he can be, but we need to see it for 90 mins not 15.

Subs :

Mark Butler LWF 6/10
Didn't set the world alight when he came on, but showed enough work rate for me to be impressed, and to see he could be a good player for us.

Arnold Djedje LB 6/10
Looks like a very string player and quiet athletic another good acquisition

Gareth Foot CF 5/10
Game was already lost when he came on so was very hard to come in and change anything.

Guys some of the ratings aren't great but hey we have to take the rough with the smooth, I challenge the team to go on and be unbeaten for the rest of the season and show the league we are a force to be reckoned with.
