MATCH REPORT: 15.10.06 - ASTON

15-Oct : Aston 0 - 1 Newbury Forest

Another game another win, but it was much tighter than it needed to be. For the amount of time we had the ball and the chances we created we should have got the second killer goal to end the game. On a brighter note the back line dealt with most of what they had to offer, and the few times they did get through Graham was always alive to what was going on.

Another positive to take from the game is the amount of chances we create. There are goals all over the team and match winners everywhere. This however doesn’t give us the right to believe that we are just going to win ever game at a canter. As long as we keep this in mind I feel this could be a very good year.

The winner came from some great work down the left with Jey and Tom, Jey managed to ghost past three defenders and square the ball to Alfie for him to slot home. A very well worked team goal, which proves we do have it in us to keep the ball and move the other team around.

Now for the ratings

Graham “Safe Hands” Tritton GK
To be fair to him he didn’t have much to do, but did the simple things well. Hopefully he won’t have much to do all year. 7/10

Dave “Skipper” De Rijk RB
Ha a great game down the right, even showed he has a bit of pace in the old legs. 8/10

Nick “Chav Boy” Marrable CB
Competent performance from the Chav, not his best but not his worst. If he learns to shoot he’d be dangerous. 7/10.

Arnold “Please never shoot” Djedje CB 7/10
I really don’t know why our centre backs think they can score, stick to defending guys. Another satisfactory performance

Tom “Welshy” Starling LB
Very intelligent player, operated down the line well. Was a constant feeder to Jey up top on the left. 7/10

John “The Kaiser” Hassan DM
I think the nickname may have to change, to the baddest man on the planet. He takes no prisoners and shows no mercy. I’m glad you play for us!!!  7/10

Luke “Mojo Monkey Baby” Mardle AM
Direct and too the point, that’s what Mojo all about. Always probing and looking for openings. 7/10

John “Lil Pol” Galligan AM
Bit of a quite game for the Polster, but still keeps things flowing and pops up in good positions all the time. 7/10

Jey “Flake” Siva WL
If he plays like this every week he’s unplayable. Their fullback saw more of his 99 than Tommy 8/10

Alfie “Dream Team” Egembah WR
Thought I had a good game, had the beating of my full back all day, great strike if I do say so my self 8/10

Andy “Machine” Saunders CF
Bit of a quite day for the machine, for once me and Jey out did him, I’m sure next week he’ll be back to his dream team best. 7/10

Subs
Chris “Little Animal” Wallbank RB 7/10
Starting to get back to his aggressive self, but we need the full animal back.

Danny “Top Gun” Chester AM 6/10
Found it a bit hard to get in the game, but helped us get over the finish line.

Tom “Wax on, Wax off” Gibbins DM 6/10
Similar to Dan, difficult to get into a game like this.
