East London Patriots 0 v 1 Newbury Forest
Double Header - Part 1
One game away from winning the league now; victory was hard fought but the Holy Grail is only 90 minutes away. In terms of the game, it wasn’t that pretty, scrappy at best. There was a lot of hard work and endeavour but not enough quality. We never looked like losing the game, but we made hard work of winning it.
With it being the first part of a double header I think nerves were getting to everyone, with being this close to the title. The goal itself was one of the only good passages of play we had, which ended up with Dave scoring with some part of his body he claims head but we all think otherwise.
It was the first step to clinching the title, what was next was the chance to make history. Stay tuned to see if we managed to do so.
Starting Line Up:

Now for the ratings
Graham “Newbury's No. 1 ” Tritton GK
Not much to do during the game as we were in control for long periods.
Chris “Animal” Wallbank RB
Animal by name; animal by nature. Snapping into challenges like the thug that he is. He even nearly scored then got a nose bleed.
Nick “Chav chain is no more” Marable CB
Quiet game by his standards but dealt with all they had to offer.
Richard “Soon to be Mr Z3” Saunders CB
Looked a little shaky at times, but still managed to get a disco snip in there at some point.
Justin “Live in Lover” Caesar LB
Tad but in decisive with ball s in the air, however was covering well for his centre backs.
Tom “New Kaiser” Gibbings DM
Another quiet performer, but got on with his job well
John “Couldn’t score in brothel” Galligan AM
Another good performance in the middle of the park, always neat and tidy and keeps things moving.
Dave “Motson himself” Ademakinwa AM
One of his better performances of the season. Was every where and made sure he got something on it for the goal. His energy help the team inch forward and win possession.
Alfie “Lil John owes me money” Egembah WR
Poor display in the first half, didn’t look at the races. Slightly better in the second half.
Andy “Well hello Mr Spoon” Saunders CF
Top class worker, always gives everything. Ran like the Duracell bunny all game long.
Tom “Pretty Boy” Starling WL
Quiet game for old Welshy, but put in a great ball for Dave to score his goal.
Subs
Arnold “The Dark Destroyer” Djedje CB
Even with a new hair design still looking to destroy what ever is in his path.
Jey “Sup B” Siva WR
Flakey on the right wing, having a laugh ain’t you. Even had a right footed shot and cross from him, what is the world coming to.
