MATCH REPORT: 24.08.06 - EAST LONDON UTD

24-Aug : Newbury Forest 4 - 0 East London Utd

With last Sunday performance still ringing in our ears a Thursday night game is what we needed. Get back on the bike as quick as possible. We were playing a team that we knew well and knew we could beat, but we were going to have to play the way we have during training. U think the kick up the back side worked, everyone was trying that much harder, wanting it that more. To be fair it was an easier game than Sunday but the chances created and goals scored were good ones. What we need to take from this game is not the result, but the performance. We kept the ball so much better it meant he had so many more chances.

Now for the ratings

Graham “Newbury No 1” Tritton GK
Didn’t have much too do but concentrated well, and his distribution was fantastic, he hit me on the half way line with a throw out in which we ended up scoring from.

Chris “Animal” Wallbank RB
Back to top form, I lost count how many times he went past me on the right. Very solid performance.

Tommy “Repka” Stapleton CB
Had to come off early with a knock, but had a much better game than the Sunday before.

Arnold “The Rock” Djejde CB
Started out on the left then came back into the middle. Took the criticism on the chin and put a good shift in.

Rob “Carlos” Hurst LB
By the time he came on we were in the dark, but still managed to cover well and try and get forward for the team.

Disco “The man that is” Saunders CB
Had another good game at the back, was working hard on trying to keep position of the ball, and moving it around quicker.

Luke “The monkey is Back” Mardle AM
This was the kind of game he loved, loads of space to exploit

Danny “Quiet Performer” Chester DM
I think he enjoyed this game a lot more, was always in the thick of things and made things happen

Dave “Mr TT” Zarcaro AM
Crafty as ever and always looked a threat, they couldn’t handle zesty and his raw one speed pace.

Dave “Ginger big bird Lover” Ademakinwa AM
Work rate was back up to its normal best and at times was running the show, had pace to burn and they simply couldn’t handle it.

John “Pimp, yes that’s right Pimp” Hassan DM/CB
Another quiet but effective game for John, but that’s what I like when he’s there you don’t think much of what he’s doing. But take him out of the team and you notice the difference. We win, only joking.

Jey “Flake” Siva WF
Loved this game cos he could wander all over the park.

Andy “I’m going to lose to Alf” Saunders CF
He could be to goal machine we are looking for, after me of course. Good movement, good goals good player.

Alfie “Mpenza” Egembah
Another decent enough game, score so was happy with that okay overall really.

Frankie “Long Name” Perez
Another good performance capped off with a goal
