24-Sept
: Newbury Forest 7 - 1 Hogs Head Hornchurch
Well
we have always threaten to give a team a good hiding from the way
we play, and I think that this performance showed us where we need
to be in terms or work rate, determination and drive. It was as
if we were machine like in our commitment. No one shirked a challenge;
everybody wanted the ball and gave the man with the ball options.
I
don’t want us to go over the top with the score line, but
what it did show us was that we have the ability to kill games off.
Last week we let them back into the game and ended up having a shaky
last five minutes. Whereas this week; the game was dead and buried
by half time.
At
times the movement of the ball and players was great, the slick
inter play meant the opposition didn’t know who to mark or
go with. Of course when you win by such a margin there must be some
good finishes. I think I’ll be first to say that Andy Saunders
had some fantastic goals today. However even if you take that away
from his game, his work rate and desire to run after lost causes
and put people under pressure meant that he definitely got Man of
the Match. Well lets be honest he did score 5, even if one of them
was a blatant brown paper bag given to the keeper at half time.
Let’s
hope that this the way of the future which leads us to the league
championship.
Now
for the ratings
Graham “Safe Hands” Tritton GK
He’s not called safe hands for nothing. Had a solid game 7/10
Dave
“Del Boy” De Rijk RB
One of the best games I’ve seen him have, was immense going
forward. Was always a willing runner but always made sure he knew
what his covering duties were, and nearly won the MOM award. 9/10
Nick “Chav Boy” Marrable CB
I like what he has brought to the team; he’s got good ability
on the ball and gives us a platform to play from. 8/10.
Arnold
“The Rock” Djedje CB
I feel he has benefited from playing alongside Nick. They both have
a good partnership going at the moment which seems to give everyone
that much more confidence. 8/10
Tom
“Welshy” Starling LB
Again at full back I thought he was tremendous gave us great work
rate and width down the left. It was like watching a young Riise.
Was very unlucky not to win MOM. 9/10
John
“The Kaiser” Hassan DM
When will teams realise that he is the only one in the team that
wins the headers in the middle its stupid. Another great performance
holding in the middle of the park. 8/10
Luke “Mojo Monkey Baby” Mardle WR
Looks a lot more at home when in the middle of the park creating
things. Good all-round display, deserved a goal for his efforts
8/10
Dave
“Lil Beast” Ademakinwa AM
Worked hard all game, and took his goal well. Needs to use this
as a platform to continue from and cement his place in the team.
8/10
Andy
“Dream Team Baby” Saunders WR
He scored 5 for God’s sake, what more can you ask of him.
Always works hard whenever he plays; that’s why he deserved
the Man of the Match award, and I do beliveve that this is the first
ever 10/10
Jey
“Flake” Siva WL
At times they couldn’t see him, he was leaving players in
his wake. Seems to be getting a good understanding with his left
back that can only bowed well for the team. 8/10
Alfie
“Mpenza” Egembah CF
Thought it was a good performance, tried to work the full back into
the game which worked well. Was unlucky with the penalty, I thought
the keeper made an outstanding save. 8/10
Subs
Justin
“TNT” Ceaser LB
Slotted in a left back and played well, gets up and down the line
well.. 7/10
Dave
“Mr Vegas” Zarcaro DM
Unusual position for him, but he tried to work hard and keep the
ball moving. 7/10
