: Manor Park Rovers 0 - Newbury Forest 5
Manor Park Rovers 0 v 5 Newbury Forest
Boy we were definitely back with a bang. How great is the game of football, from Cup heartache to league joy all in the space of 7 days. After the first game against these boys we knew it was going to be a tough game. But the boys came out with a five star performance. With last week still fresh in the minds, we knew that the league needed to have all of our attention. Even with a few absentees the squad was still strong and looking to act revenge from last week.
The game started well with us trying to get the ball down and play our football. Manor Park were up for the game as well, they knew they had to win to stop us from winning the league. They also wanted to get a bit of revenge themselves after the 4-1 defeat at the Arena of football that is Newbury. We created some good chances in the first half but could get the breakthrough that would give us the edge. At half time it was 0-0, but the boys were upbeat we knew that the chances we keep coming and the goals would soon follow.
Jey Siva scored the first with a delightful finish into the roof of the net, him and the goal machine then scored another 3 between them. On any normal day this would take up much of the match report, but a certain SENDEROS had other ideas.
All season we have wanted GIBBO to get his goal, he's passed when he should have shot, missed the target or lost the ball. Today however was a different story. He must have been watching premiership years or something, the world stop moving and the birds stopped singing as his thunderbolt of a shot flew in off the cross bar. It was such a shock that even he didn’t believe it. He now thinks he’s gonna get at least 5 goals by the end of the season, otherwise he said he will have to do a team forfeit suggested by Alfie.....
