Tigers A 0 v 0 Newbury Forest
It was the cup final all over again, two goods teams who love to play football and this time we had weather that was conducive to play football. With the final still in our thoughts we wanted to right the wrongs that we felt were done on that day.
Tigers in second knew they had to win to ensure that we didn’t go above them in the league so it was a real top of the table clash. With Newbury bring only 7 points away from the title themselves they knew that a win would propel them ever nearer to that first league championship.
Bothe games this year have been very cagy and close. No one wanting to give to much away. Today’s affair was very of the same. Both sides had chances to win it. The first half was a bit scrappy, but after half time both side got the ball down on the floor and tried to keep it moving. Andy Saunders was unlucky to hit a post.
The draw was a fair result for both sides; neither side did enough for the win. Tigers are the only team we haven’t beaten and that is because they have matched us in all the games we have played. It’s another point closer to the title; hopefully we can do it next week at our double header.
