2-Nov
: Newbury Forest 3 v Social Club Kelvedon 1 (aet)
Typical Newbury once again, we are the only team I know that can totally out play teams, but still be in a position that we nearly go out of the game. We like to leave it late, but a great header from Nicky Marrable took the game into extra time. Once in extra time the team’s general dominance took over and we scored the goals to finish them off. So we’re through to the next round which is what we want, but it was a little too close for comfort.
At times the performance was good but we need to start taking our chances, because against better teams we will get punished. On a lighter note some of the attacking play was great and the performance by the debut boys was good as well.
Starting Line Up:

Now the ratings
Graham “Newbury’s No1” Tritton GK
Didn’t really have much to do throughout the whole game. Couldn’t do anything about the goal, but did everything else competently. 6/10
Jon “Lil Pol” Galligan LB
The versatile one always does a job, at the moment he’s gotta be in the team every week. 8/10
Dean “Newbie” Neville CB
No rest for the wicked, the new boy got straight in there and did a good job. Needs time to settle into the back line and squad. 7/10
Nick “Hull yeah” Marrable CB
Back after a week away, and back with a bang. Took his goal well to keep us in the competition and overall did well. 8/10
Alfie “Cafu all day” Egembah RB
Getting used to the full back role, getting forward well with some good deliveries as well. 7/10
Tom “Gibbo is Big Time” Gibbings DM
So far this season not his best performance, but he’s definitely a controlling force in the middle of the park. 7/10
Toch “Deco with a pony tail” Singh AM
Just like his partner in crime not his best game, but still had enough about him to show flashes of brilliance. 7/10
Dan “CSI” Chester AM
Quiet game from Rooney; seem to be on the periphery of the game. 6/10
Jey “Put him on his right” Siva WL
The Tamil Tiger had a quiet game but still managed to come up with a goal. Starting to show glimpses of his Brunel best. 7/10
Andy “What’s your job again” Saunders CF
Didn’t do his job so had to take the kit END! 7/10
Jason “Debut Boy” Reynolds-Blanche WR
Quietly got on with his job and did well for his first start. 8/10
