Meet The Squad - Andy Saunders

This is a new segment on our news page; it gives the chance for you the viewing public to get to know your favourite Newbury Forest players that little bit more. With so many talented players in the squad it was a hard decision to decide who would be the first, but a decision had to be made and Andy Saunders was chosen to start the ball rolling.

1. How have you found your first season in the blue of Newbury Forest?
I have to say this season at Newbury Forest has probably been the best
season of football I have enjoyed. On the pitch I've welcomed the task of my
first season in men’s football and off the pitch I couldn't ask for a better
bunch of...pissheads : D

2. What has been you favourite moment this season?
Favourite moment of the season so far has got to be sticking it to Manor
Park Rovers twice, firstly at home showing them who we are; when they thought
they were the best and then secondly away when we demolished them with our
youngsters..GIIIIBBO!!

3. Who is your favourite member of Dream Team?
As everyone is aware, dream team is a (magical) unit and there are no
individuals. So I couldn’t possibly answer.

4. Who has been the most influential person in your football career up to
date?
I dunno really, I would probably say my old manager and coach at Manford Way
F.C. last year. It was under them where I developed most as a striker in my
year at Manford U18s.

5. If you had the chance to play with any real professional players who
would be your ideal dream team up front with you?
I think I would choose Ronaldinho and Thierry Henry...simply because on
their day they are the best players in the world.

6. Who do you most admire in the Newbury Forest Squad?
I think I’m gonna have to say Nick...at the beginning I thought he was just
the normal, run of the mill Chav but now I see he bleeds the blue of Newbury
Forest and probably loves this team more than...west ham??

7. Have you felt the pressure of having to score the goals for Newbury
Forest this year?
I never really think about it to be honest, I always think of scoring goals
before a game but I think of it as 'how many?' not 'will I?' and when I'm in
such a talented squad as this years I'm never worried that the team can
produce goals.

8. Do you think the skipper will ever score a goal?
Yes, and it will be a screamer from 40 yards...with his head...but only if
he cuts his hair.

9. Who do you think out of the whole squad would most enjoy dressing up as a woman, and why?
Chris Wallbank, simply because I've heard he's done it before and there was
even photographical evidence.

10. Have you ever seen JH take part in a training session?
The only training he does on Tuesdays and Thursdays is voice training so he can
do one of his massive, horrible, Kaiser-like rants in the middle of the
pitch.
