Newbury Forest Welcome Back Some Old Faces

When the club heard that some of it's old faces were looking at establishing a new team to compete in the 2007/2008 season it didn't take too much brainpower to work out that inviting them to play as part of the Newbury Forest family had to be done.

Thankfully they accepted the invitation and it is with great pleasure that we can welcome another senior squad into our club including such old favourites as Dave Zarcaro, Gary Murphy, Israel Rodriguez-Perez and Jono Third.

The squad will be registered officially as Newbury Forest Old Boys and will operate as a separate squad providing an opportunity for players to be involved with Newbury Forest without the commitment of two training session per week.

The squad, with Dave Zarcaro (Z) at the helm, have already played 2 friendlies and first impressions are very positive. The team will be competing in the South Essex Sunday League Division 2 and we are all confident that they will be able to not only hold their own in the division but hopefully push for a top four finish.

This is another fantastic step forward for the club and together with the youth teams coming on board things continue to look extremely healthy for our 'little' club....
